St Hild Centre for Baptist Ministry
St Hild Centre for Baptist Ministry trains new and existing Baptist Ministers and equips many others in excellent theological learning and a contagious passion for the kingdom. We train in theology for today’s world, in Christian formation and leadership for tomorrow’s church.
We’ve contributed to training Baptists for over a decade, both towards accreditation and independent students. In 2024, the Baptist Union of Great Britain welcomed our Centre as a member college – the first new college to join the Union in more than a century.
We now offer the full package of theological, spiritual and practical formation for Baptist Ministers in Training by an experienced, innovative team.
Identifying and equipping leaders across Baptist churches in our regions
to see the church and the Kingdom of God grow
- We seek to be a catalyst to see a strong pipeline of leaders in the local church: training those who will pioneer, presenting the gospel afresh to each generation.
- We aspire to help local church leaders to raise their own people into positions of discipleship, spiritual formation and leadership.
- We especially want to include those who are younger, of diverse life situations and requiring accessible education.
- We are here to meet the missional aspirations and theological needs of Baptists in our regions.
- As a new Centre, committed to pioneering, collaborative and innovative training pathways, we may be able to help you in new ways.
- We specialise in church planting training.

We offer theological training and missional practice in a variety of ways:

- Specialist training in Church Planting, pioneering and Mission on the Margins

We offer a full range of academic pathways – at a level that’s right for you. If you’re eligible, you can also apply for UK Student Finance towards the costs of your study.
