The St Hild Centre For Baptist Ministry Celebrates One Year!

The CBM is flourishing one year after its launch, and Nick Allan gives an update.

The St Hild Centre for Baptist Ministry – One Year On

‘One year since its launch, our Centre for Baptist Ministry (CBM) is flourishing as a dynamic partnership between the college and the Yorkshire and East Midlands Baptist Associations. Becoming the newest member college of the Baptist Union, we offer complete ministerial training that integrates deep theological study with practical, missional formation. St Hild’s vision—to see the renewal of the Church and the transformation of communities—is already bearing fruit. From modest beginnings with 5 Ministers-in-Training, our 2025 cohort supports 16 trainees drawn from 7 Baptist Associations nationwide. We’re proud to reflect the diversity of the Baptist movement, spanning seven nationalities, many women and leaders from underrepresented backgrounds, alongside other Baptists studying independently for a range of qualifications.

The road ahead looks equally inspiring. We plan to expand our services, to offer thought-leadership, and to widen our collaboration to serve our churches and ministers across the regions. As a hub of innovation and pioneering, we will play our part within the national Baptist family to equip a new generation of missional leaders ready to serve churches and communities throughout the country.’ – Nick Allan, Director of the Centre for Baptist Ministry

Recently, the Centre for Baptist Ministry in partnership with the St Hild Centre for Church Planting was proud to host a new initiative, an international online symposium entitled ‘Both/And Church: Micro Meets Congregation’. You can enjoy free videos from the Symposium here on the YouTube playlist.

‘The (Symposium) day was brilliant and clearly a much-needed space given the level of interest/enthusiasm/hunger for learning. You managed to get together a brilliant and diverse group of people to speak – from people pioneering across Europe, to local church leaders mobilising disciple makers and helping people start micro churches’, said Tim, microchurch planter in the UK.
